Lionel Messi has spent all season racking up new records with his goals and assists, and of course he did it all over again against Lyon on Wednesday.
The Barcelona captain announced at the start of the season his desire to bring the European Cup back to the Camp Nou and produced a performance that highlighted his determination to win this competition once again.
Messi scored a cheeky Panenka penalty, added a great third and then set up Ousmane Dembele and Gerard Pique to seal a great night for the hosts.
And also a first for the main man:
That’s just the eight goals and three assists for Messi in six Champions League outings this season.
